Using the Gallery

Choose from one of the photo galleries from the right to view photographs.

The way you view pictures in a photo gallery is quite simple and you have a few options. In the ribbon at the bottom you can scroll through pictures using the left and right (forward and back) arrows. Clicking on any of the thumbnails on the bottom will place the picture in the larger window. The picture can be enlarged again if you enter the viewing area.

You can also scroll through the large viewing area using the First, Previous, Next and Last text buttons. Once you enlrage a picture you can scroll through all the enlarged images by selecting NEXT or PREV which shows up in the picture when you place your mouse on the left or right side about 1/3 down from the top. You can also scroll forward or backwards in the enlarged pictures by using the left or right arrow keys on youur computer's keyboard.

The gallery will open in a new window. Simply close the window when you are done and you will be back at this page.

Be patient, the pictures are all hi-res so it takes a little bit of time (about 1 minute depending on how fast your internet is) to load the thumbnails and full size pics.

Needless to say each and every picture is copyrighted and the unauthorized use of any of these pictures is prohibited without express permission from the owner. A pox and curse shall fall upon those who use without permission.

The Photo Gallery

Australia 2004

In 2004 we had the opportunity to travel to Australia and New Zealand as part of our wine business. One of the few perks we have had during all the years we have been selling wine. The pictures are shown in the order of our visit. First a couple of days in Sydney to view Wine Australia, then a trip into what can only be described as the industrial wine region of Australia, the Riverina region in New South Wales to visit a winery whose name we no longer mention. Then back to Sydney for a few days before departing to New Zealand, a place that we would definitely go back for a visit.

New Zealand 2004

In 2004 the back half of our trip to Australia took us to New Zealand on the way back to Vancouver. We landed in Wellington at midnight after a flight from Sydney. All the flights into Wellington had been diverted because of strong winds and a storm Wouldn't you know it, our pilot decides to land in Wellington anyway, despite the fact the plane was being blown sideways on the final approach. Next morning we took a ferry to the south island for two days, then back to Wellington for another two fays, then a 20 hour flight back to Vancouver, via plane stops in Fiji and L.A.

Alaska Cruise 2005

In 2005 we took Peter's Mother and Sister Pat on a cruise to Alaska. It was one of those bucket list items that needed to get done. We liked it so much we went on two more cruises to Alaska in 2006 and 2007. Those pictures are separate projects.

Alaska Cruise 2006

In 2006 we took another cruise to Alaska. Why? Why not! The weather was a bit nicer at the Hubbard Glacier this time and we managed to get within a quarter mile of the face wall of the Glacier this trip. Therefore a few more pictures of the Glacier portion of our little excursion to Alaska.

Panama Cruise 2007

In January 2007 we took a cruise through the Panama Canal. The trip started with a bus trip to Seattle, then a train trip from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale where we boarded the cruise ship and sailed from Florida, through the canal and up to Los Angeles. Then a train trip back to Seattle and Vancouver. Took a lot of pictures so this trip is broken up in sections.

1. Train trip and Fort Lauderdale

2. Aruba

3. Panama Canal

3. Costa Rica, Mexico - coming

4. Los Angeles - coming

Alaska Cruise 2007

In 2007 we took our last cruise to Alaska, following our cruise through the Panama Canal 6 months earier. This time we went on a Celebrity Cruise ship because we enjoyed the same cruise line for our Panama Cruise. Once you have a butler, you never want to go without.
