Bellows at the Beach

Posted by on Sep 7, 2011 in Musings

After taking my evening photo’s of the Inukshuk I walked back home going down Beach Avenue towards the Sylvia Hotel and the park at the corner of Denman and Davie. At the moment they are constructing some sort of new building by the sidwalk which I believe is going to be a Cactus Club eatery of sorts.

Just before you get to the construction site there is a structure that is below ground and the roof is a little park area with trees, benches, etc. at the street level. If you walk along the sidewalk instead of entering the park area at either end you come across two entrances which go down to the lower level. I’m too scared to go down there is the dark (what a Nancy), even though the lights are on so I don’t recall what’s down there, but I think it is the old changing rooms for the beach crowd.

It was a beautiful warm night so I took a couple of photographs in the park area. This was one of them.
