A view along the Thompson Trail which runs past the Fidalgo Bay RV park and into the town of Anacortes. The trail starts off by a small park near the humungous Shell oil refinery on the outskirts of Anacortes. This view is looking towards Anacortes, which can be seen in the distance on the left. Anacortes is where the Washington State ferry terminal is located for catching a ferry to Victoria BC on Vancouver Island.
There were a lot of joggers and cyclists using the paved pathway while we were staying at the Fidalgo Bay RV park. At this point we had just passed a rather large private residence, fenced with a private access road and a guardhouse.
