Hubbard Glacier – August 2005
The Hubbard Glacier in Disenchantment Bay, east of Yakutat, Alaska. This was taken when we were still a few miles away from the face of the Glacier. This was the first time we visited the Glacier in 2005 and the ice debris was pretty scattered and sparse. When we were here in 2007 there was more ice floating around this area and it took the ship quite a bit longer to get up to the Glacier. One of the things I promised Sue a long time ago was a weekend stay in the Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton National Park. She had to get a certain wine to the number 1 place in it’s category. She came close, but no prize and just as well because what you see on the outside, is far from what you get inside. Turns out the rooms are not so nice, according to people we talked with who had stayed there. Our motorhome has far nicer appointments and comfort than this place. Disappointing...

Early morning in February while walking Zoe for one of her longer walks. We went down to the Lagoon Tennis Courts then cut across to English Bay, passing the Stanley Park Pitch ‘n Putt and over to the playground near Second Beach. This where we turned and took the steps down to the seawall where Zoe likes to climb up on the wall and walk along the ledge. I’ll have to take a picture of her doing that next time.
